About Us

O’Neill and Sons is a spinoff of “If Its Water,” a commercial swimming pool company. The demand for timely and efficient repairs of Dolphin Pool Cleaners was growing so large that it required a full-time, separate company. As a result, O’Neill and Sons was founded by Colin O’Neill, son of Terry O’Neill, who is the owner of “If It’s Water”. Originally, Colin only dealt with commercial cleaners, but after seeing the high demand in the industry, he decided it was time to start taking on residential units as well. From here, O&S became an authorized service center for both warranty and non-warranty work for Maytronics, Dolphin’s Manufacturing Company .

As the business continued to grow, so did the need for more office space and employees. In 2011, O&S almost tripled its office and warehouse space to accommodate the growth of the business. Colin then hired his younger brother, Devin, to work for him. Colin and Devin worked hand in hand for almost a year, until Colin had a change of heart and decided to go back to nursing school. Instead of selling the business or folding it, they decided to keep O&S in the family. Now, Devin is the current owner and president of O’Neill and Sons. Devin started running the business on his own in the summer of 2011. After years of hard work, in 2017, Devin grew O’Neill and Sons to become Maytronic’s Master Service Center that oversees the entire Northeast United States for Dolphin products.

Later in 2017, Devin and his now wife, Kara O’Neill, built their relationship on their love for Philadelphia sports after the Eagles Superbow Victory. From the start of their relationship, Kara, a college professor, spent her summers helping at O’Neill and Sons, lending a hand wherever she could. Fast forward to April 2021, Devin and Kara got married and now live in the Philadelphia suburbs together. Shortly after the wedding, Kara became a full-time employee at O & S, and the two run the family business together.
